Special teams was very good. defence showed the could adapt and improve. Offence had a sparkle of life but we need more depth in our long receiving and in our options for running

We made a trip to TO from Saskatchewan - Headquarters of Rider Nation We are sport fans and Rider FANZ The Argos were not playing in TO, so we made the trip by bus to Hamilton to watch the July 1st Canada Day home opener of the Ticats and the Argos. We had a great time. It was great to see Ivor Wynne Stadium. The game was very entertaining to watch in the first half as there were many controversial penalties. The referees were a bit flag happy. We sat in about 15 minutes of a downpour of rain, but overall it was great football weather. Not too hot. The fans in Hamilton love their Cats, a little laid back though compared to Mosaic stadium. We enjoyed our trip very much

Good weather, great atmosphere, and a fun game to watch. No better way to spend the day.

the ticat expereince in 09 is pretty much the same as before... this year's team is better, and the cheerleaders are better, too...tickets are getting expensive ($70) though...still, where else would you rather be on a nice summer night?

  • Argos @ Ti-Cats

by Argooooos on 2009-07-24Ivor Wynne Stadium - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Typical CFL game!! For those who love this league then you will understand. Stadium is pretty dated, but hey that's half the fun of the CFL. Hamilton fans were a little tame, but hey not everyone can be as rabid as Saskatchewan fans. Sad to see the stadium wasnt filled to capacity. It was opening day for the league and the Argos were in town. Would have expected a better turn out, but can't really complain about much more than that.

The game was great. The first half started off slow but the second half was great!!!! The crowd was loud and really into it. I would go there again.

It was my first CFL game and couldn't have been at a better venue!! Ivor Wynne stadium is the best place to see a game. The atmosphere was small town and comfortable, what a bunch of crazy fans!! Loved it!!

  • Two sub-standard teams in a sub-standard facility.

by Coffeehound on 2009-07-19Ivor Wynne Stadium - HamiltonRating: 2 out of 5

This was my first time at Ivor Wynne in many years and I'm pleased to say that it is no longer the worst facility in the CFL. Today, after some obvious improvement, it has risen easily to one of the seven best everyday stadiums in the league. The team is much improved, but not yet "good". The Bombers are worse and fully deserved the loss that they took. A handful of leather-lunged yobbos in the crowd added to the Mickey Mouse atmosphere. $90 a ticket plus fees for this facility? Who the hell are these guys kidding? The seats around me were occupied on a "musical chairs" basis throughout the evening, suggesting that they were otherwise empty and the leather lunged yobbos had come to the game with nosebleed tickets and had simply relocated through the night. I had thought that the new private ownership might have improved things off the field, despite the team's recent evils on it. I'm disappointed and can't really see myself make this drive again.

  • Retro Night

by Tarzan on 2009-07-19Ivor Wynne Stadium - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

It was a special night at Ivor Wynne Stadium as "Retro Night" honored the 1965 Grey Cup Championship team and several of the players were on hand. Cheerloader were dressed as gogo dancers and did a great job. The game was close until the 4th quarter when Hamilton's defense shut down the Bomber attack and the offense got it in gear.

I actually had sent an email review but received no reply. I thought that ticket prices in general and for a pre-season game in particular are too expensive. I compare to Argo games and prices still seem more expensive. Difficult to what seat to purchase. Some $25 seats appear that they might be better than a $90 ticket in another location. I would have gone more last year and I would have considered more this year except for these issues.
