About

At first listen it’s familiar - like a well broken-in pair of vintage boots – but Lake Street Dive’s perfectly balanced blend of rollicking soul, Motown pop, and knockabout R&B, anchored by flawless harmonies and Rachael Price’s smoky voice, has a freshness to it that’s hard to pin down. The Brooklyn-based, classically-trained foursome have been together for over a decade. But after a sultry Jackson 5 cover went viral, a show-stealing appearance alongside Jack White and Patti Smith at a 2014 Inside Llewyn Davis tribute show in New York City, and a new album of originals recorded while listening to a lot of Bowie and The Zombies, they’ve well and truly picked up the tempo.

  • Best Female Vocalist there is

by Enthralled on 2022-10-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic Live show. Michele Price is the best female vocalist out there. Nothing smothered or drowned out in the live show. Just pure talent and delivery.

  • Awesome!

Great sound! Rachael Price’s voice was “priceless”. Love the originals as much as the classic covers! Will see them again when get come back to Vancouver!

  • FABULOUS LAKE STREET DIVE

by rearle on 2022-10-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

An outstanding concert, just the best. Lake Street improves every time we see them, this was a much more professional performance, enhanced by the addition of the 'new' members of the group. Three standing ovations, we certainly got our money's worth and more. The opening group led by Devon Gilfillian was unexpectedly amazing. Of course, Rachael's voice continues to shine! One small issue was the decision to completely darken the theater immediately at the start time instead of subdued lighting ...many people had to 'feel' their way down the aisles to their seats in complete darkness...

  • Best show off the year for me

by Music guy on 2022-10-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Hands-down best show I’ve seen in a long time. The Band was on fire!

  • Great Show

by JM on 2022-10-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This was a very polished and professional show by Lake Street Dive. I very much enjoyed it and liked the venue of the Orpheum Theatre. It was a good venue for this act. Just the right size.

  • Amazing Night with Lake Street Dive

An amazing band recorded but next level live. The energy, groove and beautiful vocals make seeing them a treat.

  • Fantastic event

by Bigfan on 2022-10-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The band is phenomenal and the acoustics of the Orpheum theatre allowed attendees to clearly experience the vocal and musical talents of all members of Lake Street Dive (and Devon)!

  • Lake Street Dive at the Orpheum

by LoveTheDive on 2022-10-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The band was beyond excellent! It’s hard to get past Rachel’s pipes, but I was so struck by the musicianship of the band. Since I first heard them a couple of years back, I have been so impressed by Bridget and Mikes bass and drums keeping it all together. They are very complex rhythmically and that makes their music so challenging from the musicians POV. I think Akie is a great addition also and complements Rachel so well, as well as being a great soloist. Loved the show… only gripe was the sound was a bit unbalanced in the second balcony, a bit too boomy in the bass, probably due the the venue.

  • Fantastic

Fantastic singer; musicians; arrangements with wonderfully balanced sound production.

  • Never fails to disappoint

by Jess robs on 2022-10-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

They never fail to disappoint live! Such talent and so enjoyable. Only downside being they didn’t play much from their other albums! I find many artists play only from the new album when many people want to listen to the old stuff!

  • Crazy Amazing.

by Ishi on 2022-10-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I expected nothing less from this group. Music filled the house and every heart in it.

  • Lake Street Bliss

by Lynchmeaux on 2019-10-20The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

What a wonderful show from a band with the lead singer sitting for the majority of the show with a cast on her left foot. The sound mix was perfect...for a middle aged guy with not the best hearing i understood every lyric sung. I enjoyed the reaction of the audience around me, and I'm sure the band did as well. This was another of those occasions where the crowd is singing along on virtually every song. I loved the covers they chose and the way they presented them. Hey i go for the music but a great lighting set up didn't go unnoticed. mmeadows was a decent opening act but what i really appreciated was them coming out into the crowd for their last song and the respect and cooperation they got from the crowd. Overall a great show by an extremely talented band that knows how to perform and a great audience that totally supported and appreciated the show!! Well done. PS Massey Hall crowds could take a lesson from this venue and these concert goers.

  • Love this band! So much talent!

This band is so great..the vocals, the music..the talent! Cannot believe I am still lucky enough to see them in such an intimate venue. They deserve a huge following. 2nd time and will see them again for sure.

  • The actual best!

by Shawna on 2019-10-20The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Best live band I've ever seen... and I've seen a lot! Band was tight and Rachael Price was pitch perfect and entertaining... even on a broken foot!

  • by garymda on 2018-06-29The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

Band was Great Lets see, over miked too loud, muddled sound, slightly better down stairs its like a out of phase speaker. I was really looking forward to the concert and totally disappointed. The harmonies were lost for the most part, the total essence of the band was lost the semi acoustic feeling of the band lost, way too loud. I felt like I was sitting in front of the drum kit in the balcony. Hopefully when they come back they are in a better venue and their sound engineers figure out the true sound of the band and bring back Rachels soulful sound and not have her screaming.
