MORRISSEY IN CONCERT:
Stop me if you think you've heard this one before: indie rock hero and consummate dandy Morrissey is back on tour, and fans can expect him to pull no punches as he continues his reign as music's favorite contrarian. With his outspoken vegetarianism, erudite literary references, and floral self-flagellation, Morrissey became one of pop culture's most notorious and influential figures in the '80s as frontman of beloved alt-rock band the Smiths, and three decades later he's lost none of his piss and vinegar. Whether he's treating audiences to Smiths classics like "This Charming Man," opining on solo favorites like "The Last of the Famous International Playboys," or debuting cuts from 2014's World Peace Is None of Your Business, Morrissey is sure to dazzle with his legendary showmanship and politically-charged sets.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
British-born Steven Patrick Morrissey was an avid consumer of pop and punk from an early age, performing in several Manchester-based bands before forming the Smiths with guitarist Johnny Marr in 1982. After building a considerable following with early singles like "What Difference Does It Make?" and "This Charming Man," the Smiths released their self-titled 1984 debut LP to a No. 2 spot on the UK Albums Chart. Three more seminal albums would follow, including 1986's The Queen Is Dead, named the "Greatest Album of All Time" in 2013 by NME. Following the dissolution of the Smiths in 1987, Morrissey made his solo debut with 1988's Viva Hate, topping the UK Albums Chart on the strength of hits like "Suedehead" and "Everyday Is Like Sunday." Over the course of nine more studio albums, Morrissey continued to build on the legacy he began with the Smiths, setting expectations high for the 2014 release of World Peace is None of Your Business, his first new album since 2009's Years of Refusal.

What a fantastic event!! The man’s voice was just as awesome as it was in the 80’s. 🩷
Amazing show, night and experience! Morrissey did not fail to deliver, and his vocals were reminiscent and flawless of my 1980s youth. My 15 year old self was beyond thrilled to relive the music that shaped my life. Thank you for an unforgettable evening ❤
Great show. Moz in fine form. Man he can still rip it when he wants to. Darling I… come on! That vocal flight was heavenly. Band nice and tight, venue was fantastic. Terrific sound and sight line at the OLG stage with super friendly staff. All in all a great night. Steven, please come back to Canada more often. We love you honey.
What a concert; I feel so grateful to have been there. Morrissey sounds amazing live, and put on an incredible, atmospheric, evocative show with such talented musicians. I decided before the show, that if I only heard "Every Day Is Like Sunday,"I would be completely happy, and anything else would be a lovely bonus. Well, I got that wish, and more. Let me tell you; when I was a teen, and I was very sensitive, and often very down, and thought I'd be a poet one day - well, you get it - I felt like Morrissey was my friend, because "he gets it."So then when I was in my seat, waiting for the show to begin, I became aware of the music and the videos that were playing and I can't stop thinking about it. It was like being invited to hang out in Morrissey's "room."It was like when someone made you a 'mixed tape' back in the day, which was always amazing because it was like a window into a friend's personal, musical heart. It's crazy how much that pre-show also blew my mind. Never experienced anything like that before. I was a Smiths fan as a teen. My daughter is now a Smiths fan, and one day she said; "what if Morrissey came to our city?!?"I laughed and said; "yeah, I doubt it!"But lo and behold, Morrissey did come to our town, and I could tell you about what a crazy, amazing year I've had of getting back pieces of my life by seeing artists I loved when I was young, but never got to see them LIVE, until I was (am), much, much older... So since I don't know if anyone reads fan-mail these days, I still wanted to write all this and say Thank You, Dear Morrissey. Thank you. Sincerely, -Karen
Morrissey sounded amazing! Same voice his entire life! ❤️ Sitting in the 400s was tight and wished the screens were on as we could barely see him. Show was amazing til the end… no one really knew it was over. Other than that OLG is the best place for a concert!
This was our second time seeing Morrissey. Always a fantastic show! His voice sounds perfect still.
What an amazing performance! Smiths songs, Morrissey songs - his voice is still silky smooth.
Put in a great show. Amazing voice. The OLG doesn't have a bad seat in the house. Parking at the casino though was $50.
The show was great, although the setlist was odd- only a couple of Smiths songs, and a lot of new material. He seemed to avoid the hits of his solo career, with a couple of exceptions. His band were great- very tight.
