  • Their Best Toronto concert yet!

by gingerto on 2013-03-24Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Scissor Sisters have had a tough crowd in the past, Toronto has not been their strongest venues. This most recent concert was by far their best... great choice of favourites, good balance of the new album, and everything rain like a well oiled filth machine!! Can't wait till they return!

I've been a fan of Scissor Sisters ever since their first album. I've seen them in concert 5 times now, and they never fail to disappoint. They are high energy, fun, sound amazing, and everyone is dancing within seconds of the first song. This WILL be one of the best concerts you ever go to!

  • Scissor Sisters Rock!

by Joebluesky on 2012-07-03Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show as usual. Great variety of songs including the new Magic Hour tunes. Ana Matronic stole the show this year at the sound academy. II hope the Sisters come back again before next year. Love Ya!

As per usual, the Sisters where full of beans on and off the stage, a great band to see live and in a smaller venue.

  • I Defninitely Felt Like Dancing!

Brilliant evening, the electric atmosphere just made me want to dance all night, pity it was a little short, wanted more! The Commodore is always a fab venue.....cant wait to see them back again!

  • ON TIME!!!!!

by Nortile on 2012-06-24Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Being a mid week concert. We were concerned that the bands would run late and we would be extra tired the next morning for work. But thankfully, everything ran on time and the show was fabulous!

  • Scissor sisters make a splash in Stanley Park

    by birdmad69 on 2010-09-21Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

While some didn't feel like dancing in the cold Vancouver rain, those of us who stuck it out witnessed one hell of a show!! From the correctly predicted blast off with the title track of the Scissor Sisters new album 'Night Work', a "hardcore" (according to Casey Spooner, who had a fun technolounge-y opening act) Vancouver crowd was treated to a wet but highly energetic performance by this band who had taken far too long to return to our coast. While the setlist focused mainly on songs from their new album, we were treated to favourites from their previous efforts such as "Laura", "Take Your Mama", "She's My Man", and "Kiss You Off" sprinkled in with great new songs like "Something Like This", "Running Out", "Skin This Cat" and their most recent single, "Any Which Way". Jake Shears' and Ana Matronic's onstage banter kept the crowd engaged, amused, and empowered. The rain it was a-pouring, but it actually created a really cool effect with the laser light show, creating glitter-like sparkles within the wide cast beams. Very apropos. For those of us who stuck it out, keeping warm by dancing in the rain for the whole show, we were treated to a spectacular "encore" consisting of "Comfortably Numb", "Invisible Light" (my new favourite), culminating with the disco-tranny anthem "Filthy/Gorgeous" complete with a double-confetti-cannon finish. Kudos to the Sisters for not complaining about the rain (other than the poorly designed, non-covered stage of the Malkin Bowl) and marvelling at our fortitude on an otherwise sucky night weather-wise. I, for one, can't wait for them to return to the 'Couve, although hopefully in an indoor venue next time!!
